These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Beau, a mobile application operated by Dakota Labs LLC ("Dakota Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Beau, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

By creating a Beau account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Beau.

2. The service

Beau is a mobile app that helps you track and support your dog's day-to-day care. It includes:

• Local and cloud-synced tracking of dog profiles, events (walks, meals, sleep, weight, training, vet visits, milestones), and health records.
• Beau's care tools — deterministic features over your structured data and a curated, vet-reviewed knowledge base: KB Search, Symptom Triage Wizard, Weight Trend Explainer, and Find-a-Vet.
• Reminder notifications you configure (feeding, potty breaks, medications).
• Optional Beau Plus subscription unlocking additional features.

Beau's care tools are advisory and educational only. They are not veterinary advice, not medical advice, not diagnosis, and not treatment. They operate over your own structured data and a curated, vet-reviewed knowledge base, and their outputs may be incomplete, out-of-date, or wrong for your dog's specific situation.

3. Your account

To use Beau across devices and to access Beau's care tools, you need an account. On iOS, accounts are created using Sign in with Apple. On Android (slice 2 forward), accounts are created using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping the device you sign in on secure.

You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age of digital consent) to use Beau. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Subscriptions (Beau Plus)

Beau's core features are free. Beau Plus unlocks additional features for a recurring subscription fee.

• Beau Plus Monthly: $2.99 per month
• Beau Plus Yearly: $24.99 per year

Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple (StoreKit 2 on iOS) or Google (Google Play Billing on Android). The terms below apply:

• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• Your Apple ID or Google account is charged upon purchase confirmation and at the start of each renewal period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions at any time on iOS via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, and on Android via the Google Play Store's Subscriptions screen.
• No free trial is offered at launch.
• All billing is handled by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their standard policies. On iOS, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, follow Google Play's refund flow. We do not process refunds directly.

5. Care-tool disclaimer

Beau includes a small set of care tools (see section 2). They are deterministic features that operate over your dog's data and a curated, vet-reviewed dog-care knowledge base. The following always applies to those features:

• All care-tool outputs are informational and educational only. They are not veterinary advice, not medical advice, not diagnosis, and not treatment.
• Every care-tool output in a health-adjacent feature (KB Search, Symptom Triage, Weight Trend) carries a "not medical advice — consult a licensed veterinarian" footer.
• The Symptom Triage Wizard surfaces an emergency banner for high-urgency symptom patterns, including the ASPCA Animal Poison Control number (888-426-4435) where appropriate. If you believe your dog is in distress, contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately — do not wait on the app.
• We make best-effort accuracy claims for care-tool outputs, including schema-validated structured responses, but we do not warrant correctness or completeness. Outputs may be incomplete, out-of-date, or wrong for your dog's specific situation, and may not reflect the latest veterinary research or your dog's specific medical history.
• Do not rely on Beau for time-sensitive medical decisions, medication dosing, allergy management, or any decision that should involve a veterinarian.

6. Acceptable use

When using Beau you agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the app or our APIs.
• Probe, scan, or test the security of Beau's servers or APIs without our prior written consent.
• Attempt to extract our knowledge-base content programmatically (web-scraping, automated requests, bulk export).
• Circumvent subscription verification, paywalls, rate limits, or access controls.
• Impersonate another person or create an account on behalf of someone else without authorization.
• Submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or that infringes a third party's rights.
• Use Beau's care tools to generate content for redistribution as if it were professional veterinary advice.
• Use the app in any way that violates Apple's App Store Guidelines, Google Play's Developer Program Policies, or applicable law.

7. Your content

The dog profiles, photos, events, notes, and health records you enter into Beau belong to you. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the app for you, including transmitting it to the third-party services described in our Privacy Policy. We do not own your content, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.

You are responsible for the data you enter and for maintaining backups of anything important to you.

8. Disclaimers

Beau is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that care-tool outputs are accurate, complete, or appropriate for your dog. We do not warrant veterinary outcomes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dakota Labs LLC and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of Beau, including but not limited to: missed reminders, data loss, reliance on care-tool outputs, reliance on the knowledge base, or veterinary outcomes.

You specifically acknowledge that Dakota Labs is not liable for veterinary outcomes, including outcomes that result from your reliance on or interpretation of any care-tool output, knowledge-base content, or reminder in the app.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Beau shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total subscription fees you paid to us via Apple or Google in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

10. Termination

You may stop using Beau at any time. You may delete your account in the app via Settings → Account → Delete Account; that deletion cascades server-side per our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms — for example, abuse of Beau's care tools, attempts to scrape or extract knowledge-base content, or threats to the security of the service. Where possible we will notify you first; in cases involving safety or security we may suspend immediately.

11. Apple's and Google's role

Beau is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Neither Apple nor Google is a party to these Terms and neither is responsible for the app or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of the Apple App Store EULA (see the EULA) and may enforce its terms against you. Any questions about App Store or Google Play purchases should be directed to Apple or Google respectively.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. For material changes we will notify you in-app before they take effect. Continued use of Beau after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
